Mt Festival Ice Cream Booth
Sandy Kiwanis participate in the Sandy Mountain Festival each July. We are one of many non-profits that operate a booth. We sell our famous Kiwanis Bar, an ice cream bar hand dipped in rich delicious chocolate and then covered with nuts The funds raised through the sales are used for scholarships, Key Club, Builders Club, and other community services.
Fly In/ Cruise In Pancake Breakfast
This is our largest fund raiser of the year and we rely heavily on support from others including, the Optimist Club, the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, scholarship recipients, the FFA, the 4H, the Key Club, the Mt. Festival Court, the Ant Farm, and numerous other organizations, as well as family members and Friends of Kiwanis. Together we serve a pancake breakfast to about 2,500 people. The Route 26 Cruisers run the car show portion. The funds raised go into our service fund and are used to fund all of our projects and contributions to organization we support.
Funds raised at fund raisers go directly back to the community. Our club has two funds; Service and Administrative. Money raised at our fund raisers, in excess of $36,000 each year, goes directly into our Service Fund and in turn flows back into the community. The clubs administrative costs are funded by member dues.
